November 2005

Welcome to our Final ZAP News.

To all Clubs in District 23 a big THANK YOU for making every effort to attend the 8 thBiennial District 23 Conference in Glenelg, South Australia. We hope you enjoyed the Conference as much as all of us in Area 2 enjoyed hosting you.

Congratulations to the 1 st prize winner of the District 23 Raffle, P Farquharson of Latrobe, Tasmania. We hope you enjoy your beautiful quilt embroidered by members of the Zonta Club of Alice Springs, the Alice Springs Z Club and the Alice Springs Quilting Group. Congratulations also to Val Hoey of Alice Springs, the 2 nd prize winner of a night’s accommodation at the Stamford Grand Adelaide.

THANK YOU to everyone who sold and bought raffle tickets. We raised just over $3,000 which will be forwarded to the Zonta International Service Fund.

To those Clubs who participated in the Workshops, thank you, we appreciate the time and effort you put in preparing and presenting your special project/s. There are so many diverse and interesting projects throughout the District it was great to have the opportunity of hearing of your success, and failure, highs and lows, what worked and what didn’t and what difference another approach could make.

The Zonta Shop had a wonderful array of items for sale. Thank you to those Clubs who participated - a great opportunity for Zontians to spend, spend, spend, and we did!! Amazingly, in under 48 hours, the shop had a turnover of just over $8,000. Cheques have been signed and are on their way to all participating Clubs.

A big THANK YOU to our MC Julie Wiltshire for so ably guiding us through 2 ½ days of Conference Business.

To members of the Conference Committee and all sub-committee Chairmen, a big THANK YOU to you for your support and dedication over the past two years of planning.

To the District Governor, Lt. Governor, Area Directors and the District Board, thank you for your support and guidance. We look forward to the 9 th Biennial District Conference in Hobart in 2007, but before then we look forward to meeting again at the International Convention in Melbourne in June next year.

THANK YOU, EVERYONE FOR HELPING ALL OF US IN AREA 2 TO

ZAP …. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Warm wishes

Jean van Driel

Chairman 8 th Biennial District 23 Conference
