11th Biennial District 23 Conference 2011
It's Melbourne's turn to host the next
District Conference in 2011 and we are looking forward to it!
I encourage you to put the date
in your diary now and start planning your conference trip.
The conference will be held from Friday 7 to Sunday 9
October 2011, which is the
second weekend of October, so fortunately, it doesn't clash
with the AFL Grand Final!
The conference committee is
planning an inspiring, entertaining and informative conference
with loads of Zonta business, fellowship and a few surprises
too!
The theme of our Conference is
'Zonta - Raising the Stakes" focusing on developing women's
leadership potential, motivating members and increasing
awareness of Zonta's involvement in addressing issues
affecting women in our community.
The conference venue is the Sebel
Albert Park Hotel and Conference Centre, located at 65 Queen's
Road, Melbourne.
The Sebel is situated 5
kilometres from the Melbourne CBD, and is directly opposite
the stunning Albert Park Lake with views of the city.
The 5.5 km walk around the lake will be a good start to each
day for those so inclined!
Attractive accommodate rates have
been negotiated for participants (and partners and friends),
from $60 per person per night for triple share 9rooms with two
single beds and a sofa bed, not just a roll-away) or rooms at
$140 per night twin share. The special conference rate
will apply for those who wish to arrive earlier or stay in
Melbourne afterwards - they do not apply only for the duration
of the conference.
Further information about
bookings will be provided to Zontians in a forthcoming News
Flash.
