Tyril has been a Zontian since 1990.  She is passionate about empowering women, experienced in coaching and mentoring adolescents and graduate teachers and has developed skills in enabling others to become leaders by increasing their confidence and self-belief. Tyril works with Edith Cowan University as a Tutor in Secondary and Primary Mathematics and Supervisor of Pre-Service Teachers. She is a retired HoLA Mathematics Bunbury SHS; set up Gifted and Talented Mathematics program and Elevated Year 9 NAPLAN results. Tyril is also a U3A Australia Board member, Chair of Doors Wide Open Engagement hub for AOD and Homeless in Bunbury.
Her D23 Zonta experience includes Coordination of Advocacy, Women in Technology, BKFA and Golden Z and Z Clubs.

Advocacy involves analysis of legislation affecting women.
Encouraging our local members to do this, resulted in changes to Federal VRO’S laws; and submissions to review Sexual Offence Laws in WA. I encourage effective Advocacy within Zonta.
